WORSHIP
COME WORSHIP WITH US!
Sunday Worship: 11 A.M.
We're certainly not perfect in our church, but we've discovered something worth sharing with you. Like you, we daily need wisdom and love beyond our own capacities. Because of this we've found it important to set aside a few hours each week to worship God and learn from his Word. In our Sunday School and worship services, both the young and old learn principles for successful living, not just for Sunday, but for everyday.
Another source of strength and joy is the support that other Christians give. What encouragement comes from being with people from a variety of backgrounds and interests who care about each other. How helpful it is to listen to the wisdom of older Christians and enjoy the exuberance of the young. What a comfort to receive encouragement and help from friends in time of need.
Our families have found that the old saying, "The family that prays together stays together" is true. As we come together to worship God and learn from His Word, we develop a common bond. Father, mother and children coming to church together are strengthened in their commitment to God and each other. New answers to family needs are revealed as God's Word is taught.
We've also learned that King Solomon was right when he wrote, "Train . . . a child in the way he should go; And when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). With so many young people involved in drugs, immorality, the occult, and other crises, we're pleased to have children and teenagers in our Sunday School, learning the eternal truths of the Word of God. What better foundation for a happy, productive life can you offer your child?
All the benefits that we enjoy are based on our new commitment to Jesus Christ and the Word of God. When you commit your life to Christ, you come into a special relationship with God that enables you to face life's problems and bear them with His aid and the help of His people.
We believe Christ's words: "I am come that you might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). We believe, as the Bible teaches, that Jesus made eternal life and forgiveness available to us when He died on the cross for our sins: "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God . . ." (1 Peter 3:18). We also believe that by putting your trust in the risen Lord Jesus Christ, you too can share the blessings of God and His people: "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9).
In recent months, we have been blessed with the attendance of tourists. They have journeyed to the Harlem community from a number of countries- e.g., Spain, Italy, France, England, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Brazil, Trinidad, Barbados, the Virgin Islands, and Australia. Together, we have enjoyed the worship experience and the fellowship that followed. We sincerely want to be your friend and neighbor; and, therefor, we invite you to visit and worship with us!
